This Privacy Policy explains how Switchi Apps inc. (“Switchi”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use Switchi POS and related services. If you do not agree with the terms, please do not access or use the services.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to information we process about merchants, staff, and end customers in connection with the Software and related websites, dashboards, or APIs.
2. Information We Collect
- Merchant & Staff Data: account details, contact information, role, authentication logs.
- Transaction Data: orders, items, amounts, taxes, tips, refunds, receipts.
- Device & Usage Data: device identifiers, app version, IP address, log data, diagnostic events.
- Payment Data: tokenized payment information and outcomes provided by your chosen processor (we do not store full card PANs).
- Support Data: tickets, chat messages, attachments you choose to share.
- User identifiers including user ID, account information, and device identifiers;
- Order details submitted by users;
- Payment information, if processed through the app.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Software.
- Process transactions and provide receipts per your configuration.
- Personalize features, analytics, and recommendations.
- Provide customer support and communicate about service updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.
4. Legal Bases (where applicable)
- Contract: to provide the Software and related services.
- Legitimate Interests: service improvement, security, fraud prevention.
- Consent: where required (e.g., marketing communications, certain cookies).
- Legal Obligation: tax and accounting requirements, lawful requests.
5. Sharing & Disclosures
- Processors/Service Providers: hosting, analytics, support, payment processing.
- Integrations: third‑party services you enable (e.g., Clover, delivery platforms).
- Business Transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
- Compliance & Safety: to comply with law or protect rights, property, and safety.
How We Process Data
Some data, such as device IDs and session information used for real-time order delivery via WebSocket, is processed ephemerally. This means the data is temporarily stored in memory and used only to service the specific request in real-time. Such ephemeral data is not stored long-term.
Data Storage and Retention
All collected data is securely stored on our servers. While users cannot manually delete their data, all personal and order-related information is automatically deleted within 90 days.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide app functionality, including placing and delivering orders;
- For account management, including authentication and account identification;
- To process payments securely, if applicable.
Data Sharing
We do not share your personal or order information with third parties. Data is only used internally to provide the services of the app.
6. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where it was collected. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses).
7. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as necessary to provide the services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements, then securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Security
We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We use industry-standard security measures, including TLS/SSL encryption for WebSocket and other network communications, to protect your data in transit. We strive to maintain the security, integrity, and confidentiality of your personal information.
9. Your Rights

10. Merchant Responsibilities
- You are the controller of your customers’ personal data collected via the Software. You must provide appropriate notices to your customers and obtain necessary consents.
- You must configure printed/email receipts, order screens, and integrations to comply with applicable law in your region (e.g., price display, taxes, refund policy).
11. Children
Our services are not directed to children under the minimum age required by law, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
12. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We may use cookies or SDKs for authentication, analytics, and feature functionality. Where required, we will present consent banners and honor your preferences.
